SUNDAY AFTERNOON NATURE WALK
Lake Daniel Park Bluebird Trail
Sunday, March 17 , 2024, 2 to 4 pm.
Lake Daniel Park is a linear greenway along N. Buffalo Creek in the Westerwood neighborhood of Greensboro. TGPAS has maintained a Bluebird trail along the stream for many years. Monitoring is done by chapter members and Westerwood neighbors.
Our walk will take us along both sides of the stream, with up-close-and-personal views of the water on the playground side. The Bluebird boxes are on the opposite side. So this will be a loop walk, starting and ending at the playground.
The wooded stream buffer should afford good views of the creek but also a good mix of birds, hopefully including Bluebirds, which may be starting their nests. We might see early spring migrants as well as some lingering winter residents. Plan to join us for a leisurely walk along Buffalo Creek. Bring your family and friends. And your binoculars.
As always, pay attention to the weather forecast. If rain is a serious possibility or it is raining we will cancel. We'll try to give a heads-up the day before.
Lots of parking is available at the playground. The address is 410 Mimosa Dr., Greensboro 27403
