Field Trip: NC A&T Farm

PBC and Audubon are given special permission to bird on this property. An easy walk takes us around pastures, the farm pond, and edges of wet woodland. We then drive across McConnell Road to more ponds, fields, and the hog farm.

This is a joint activity with the Piedmont Bird Club.

Location: NC A&T University Farm, 3136 McConnell Road, 27405. Meet at the parking lot for the farm office.

Time:  8:15 a.m. 

Duration:  about 3-4 hours

Habitat: pasturesponds, woodlands

Difficulty Rating: 1; some slight hills, usually less than 1 mile of walking on gravel roads and grass pastures, some wetland areas 

Special considerations: Carpooling is essential around the farm grounds, as the number of cars/participants may be limited. There are no restrooms. 

Cancellation: In case of inclement weather the trip will be cancelled. Watch for an email update if weather looks questionable.
