Scarlet Oak (Quercus coccinea) 1 Gallon
Quercus coccinea is a red oak native to the southeast. They are found naturally in dry upland forests, and prefer to be grown in similar conditions. They are drought tolerant and in the fall put on a brilliant show with their bright red leaves. Quercus coccinea can be grown as a specimen tree in along the street or in a yard, or for restoration projects in dry sites. As with all oaks, their acorns are an important source of food for wildlife. Oak trees support over 500 species of butterflies and moths which then provide important sources of food for baby birds or grow to be important pollinators.
