Pearson Audubon hosted a Wednesday afternoon walk at Davis Lake a couple weeks ago that encountered so much bird activity at the lake that the group never got to the Bicentennial Trail that was advertised.
So, we decided to go for it this coming Sunday. We'll gather at the same location, check out the lake for starters, and then head to the trail. We might encounter some of our resident and winter birds as well as some early spring migrants. And as this is a “nature walk” we'll check out the flora and fauna around the lake and on the trail.
The walk---stroll, amble, saunter---will be on paved, mostly flat surfaces. The forecast is for sunny, mid-60s, perfect for a nature walk. Bring your binocs and some water if you wish. Note that there are no restrooms available.
For your GPS the address is: 4160 Mendenhall Oaks Parkway, High Point, 27265.
The Parkway can be entered either from Wendover or Eastchester Dr. (NC 68). Park across from the Creative Snacks building in the lot for Ryan Scott Displays, which is on the south side of the street right at the lake.
Come join us for a Sunday encounter with nature. For information and questions contact trip leader Jack Jezorek at: suejackj@bellsouth.net
And as always TGPAS trips are free and open to all.
