Please join us Wednesday, September 25th as we gather at M’Coul’s Public House to socialize and watch the Chimney Swifts begin to organize before funneling into the chimney to roost for the night.
Chimney Swifts start to band together in large roosting groups before their fall migration to South America. Here in Greensboro, thousands of these birds have used the chimney at the Carolina Theatre or other nearby chimneys. It is quite impressive to watch them as they circle above and all around, and then begin to spiral into the building at sunset, hundreds at a time.
Time: Drop in, enjoy a drink and a bite, and chat with us at M’Coul’s anytime between 5:30PM and 7PM, Around 7PM we will head down to the street to get a closer look at the swifts as they make their way into the chimney.
Where: We will gather on the rooftop of M’Coul’s Public House,
110 W McGee St, Greensboro, and then make our way to street level for a better view.
The event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather.
