Sunday Afternoon Nature Walk

Sunday Afternoon Nature Walk: Exploring the Nat Greene Trail October 22, 2 – 4 p.m.

Address: 4463 Old Battleground Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410

Join us as we meander along the Nat Greene Trail, one of the oldest and most popular of the City's watershed trails. It traverses diverse mixed hardwoods and pines along the watershed buffer of Lake Brandt’s southeast edge. In summer and fall, expect to see flowering ironweed and cutleaf coneflower, among other native plants. A 200-foot boardwalk near the Old Battleground Road trailhead allows hikers to cross mud flats and bogs where Horse Pen Creek feeds into Lake Brandt. Wear sturdy shoes, as the surface of the trail is uneven when off the boardwalk. We will meet at the trailhead off Old Battleground Road. Parking can be limited, but there is more parking at the nearby Palmetto Trail, a short walk away. There will be much to discover on the trail! Contact Judy Hoag, trip leader, at 336-282-7382 if you have questions.
